TCS HS Students! We are so excited to start seeing our patients again.
TCS Parents, did you know that your student can get health care at the Teen Health Center Students, did you know that you can come to the Teen Health Center to receive confidential mental health therapy?
What are the costs for services? All services are FREE for all Seattle Public School Students. Welcome new Freshman!
Karen Boudour, ARNP | Karen has been working with teens and their families for nearly 20 years. She enjoys helping students learn to navigate the health care system so that they can remain healthy throughout their lives. She has a particular interest in behavioral health, providing medical care in coordination with the therapist. Karen provides all the services offered by primary care providers, and does so in a teen-friendly setting to all SPS Students.
Services include the following:
- Sports physicals
- Reproductive health care: Birth control, STD screenings, emergency contraception
- Treatment for acute and chronic illnesses
- Illness and injury care
The nurse practitioner Karen Boudour, ARNPwill be available for all SPS Students in clinic or in-person visits on Mondays and Friday. Telehealth visits will be available Tuesday through Thursday.

Mental Health Counseling
Chelsea Clark, MSW, LICSW | Chelsea is a mental health counselor who provides free, confidential therapy to Ballard and Center School students. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and CBT with Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), in addition to elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Chelsea is especially interested in teaching students mindfulness approaches to manage stress and improve mood. She is the advisor for the Students Learning About Mental Health (SLAM) club which provides peer education around suicide prevention/mental health. She is also a field instructor with the University of WA School of Social Work for MSW candidates during their advanced practicum. She will be providing in-person intake sessions in clinic and ongoing Telehealth sessions via telephone or video.
Soriah Mitchell (MSW candidate) | Soriah is in her second year with the UW School of Social Work and will be completing her advanced practicum at the Ballard Teen Health Center. She will be doing in-person intake sessions in clinic and ongoing Telehealth to established students from late September to June of the 2020-2021 school year.

Chemical Dependency Counseling
Eddie Medina, BS, CDPT, AAC | Eddie is a substance use counselor who provides free, confidential counseling to all SPS Students. He is a Prevention/Intervention specialist who has worked with youth in an inpatient treatment center, as well as in high schools.
Eddie offers individual counseling as well as support groups for SPS Students affected by substances either through their own use, or the use of family/friends. His counseling strategies are based on harm reduction techniques and he is passionate about providing students with a safe place to explore the many different factors associated with adolescent drug usage.
Eddie Medina, BS, CDPT, AAC will be available for all SPS Students in clinic for in-person visits on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Telehealth visits are also available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
A VIS or Vaccine Information Statement is a document, produced by CDC, that informs vaccine recipients – or their parents or legal representatives – about the benefits and risks of a vaccine they are receiving.
Vaccines are available in clinic. During the pandemic, vaccines are available for any SPS student, regardless of school.

- Swedish Cherry Hill and Ballard Family Medicine Residency programs place medical residents at our clinic three days per week under the supervision of Karen Boudour, ARNP.
- Sound places a therapist at our clinic 1-2 days per week.
- The Ballard Food Bank provides food to be distributed both during the day and a weekend back pack program to students in need.
