      • Prompt #1: Choose a city located anywhere in the world that you believe would, from a future employment prospective, benefit your career. Explain in under 500 words how spending time in this city would help you become more marketable to a potential employer(s).

    • Essay Prompt: Write an essay of no fewer than 800 words about your opinion on the importance and efficacy of the 7th Amendment and how it affects your life. Consideration for the entirety of the Amendment (rather than the well-known nutshell explanation of the right to trial by jury) is encouraged.

  • The Sub Pop Loser Scholarship
    • Submit an essay using any of the following questions as a guide: What are you doing in the arts/music field in your community? What does being a Sub Pop ‘Loser’ mean to you? What are your influences and/or who inspired you to become involved in the arts? Describe your biggest failure and explain how it has brought you closer to your goal(s). Discuss a special attribute or accomplishment that sets you apart. How has your family or community background affected the way you see the world? Why should you be the Loser winner?

Identity-, Interest-, and Experience-Based Scholarships

  • Concerto High School Musicians Scholarship
    • For high school musicians
      • Applicants must select ONE work from the repertoire list and submit an unedited recording of their performance accompanied by piano, band or orchestra.
      • Only string, piano, and harp players are eligible to apply for the 2025 competition, but there will be a second application due sometime in 2026 for woodwind, brass, and percussion players.

  • James Alan Cox Student Photojournalism Scholarships
    • Students must submit five still images or two videos which “tell a story”
      • Pictures and videos should be timely, objective, aesthetically interesting and tell a story, not “art” photography or “cute” photography

  • National Space Club Scholarship
    • For students who intend to pursue a career in a STEM field, are academically strong, and excel in public speaking.
