A Promising Future: Scholarship offers students a free path to higher education
About Seattle Promise
Seattle Promise launched in 2018 to create more equitable higher education opportunities for Seattle public school graduates.
The program is a promise to:
- Guide students onto a direct path from high school to college to earn a degree or certificate and enter the workforce or transfer to a four-year college or university;
- Boost career opportunities for all students, especially first-generation and under-served populations; and,
- Prepare students to participate in our region’s vibrant workforce and economy without taking on overwhelming debt.
The program provides the first two years (or up to 90 credits) of tuition, additional financial support for books, transportation, housing, etc. to those with financial need, and personal guidance to succeed in college. All Seattle public high school graduates are eligible regardless of grade point average (GPA), income, or country of birth.

I can help support TCS students with every step of the Seattle Promise enrollment process, including the scholarship application, Seattle Colleges application, FAFSA/WASFA completion, and registration for Readiness Academy and Campus Connect events.
How to Apply
- Submit the Promise Application
- Due: February 12, 2027
- Submit College Admission Application (North, South, or Central)
- Due: February 12, 2027.
- Submit FAFSA and WASFA Applications
- Seattle Promise: Respective Seattle College School on FAFSA/WASFA: North Seattle College: 009704, Seattle Central College: 003787, South Seattle College: 009706
- Due: April 30, 2027

Apply
- Feb. 12, 2027:
- Deadline to complete a Seattle Promise Application
- Deadline to complete College Admissions Application to a Seattle College (North, Central, South)
- April 30, 2027:
- Complete the 2027-28 FAFSA or WASFA
Prepare
- Explore and choose a program of study before attend Readiness Academy
- May and June 2027: Attend Readiness Academy
- June 2027: Graduate from Seattle Public Schools
- July 30, 2027: Deadline to submit and complete required College Financial Aid documents
- Participate in Summer Bridge
Start
- August and Sept. 2027: Attend Campus Connect Orientation
- Complete financial aid applications and class registration for second year
- Start as second year Promise scholar. Meet advisor quarterly, maintain satisfactory academic progress.
Graduate Seattle Promise
- Graduate and begin your career or bachelor’s degree program.
