What You Should Know

• Students don’t register for SAT School Day through College Board. Schools and districts choose whether to offer it and determine if students pay fees.
• SAT School Day is available only to U.S. schools.
• Low-income students participating in SAT School Day are eligible for the same benefits as students who use fee waivers for weekend administrations.
• Many students take the SAT for the first time in the spring of their junior year, and then again in the fall of their senior year to improve their score

SAT School Day, which lets you take the SAT at your school on a weekday, will be offered as a paper and pencil assessment through fall 2023.

The PSAT/NMSQT is now digital! The test is easier to take, shorter, has more time per question, and comes with a built-in calculator. It can also qualify you for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other scholarships.

To meet the ASVAB graduation pathway option, students must meet the minimum score of 31 on the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT) to be eligible to serve in a branch of the armed services at the time the student takes the test. The AFQT is a component of the ASVAB (not a separate test). Satisfying this graduation pathway option meets requirements in both English and math.

ASVAB scores are used primarily by each branch of the United States armed forces to determine if an individual meets minimum entrance requirements. Test scores are also used to determine which specific jobs within each military branch would be a good fit for that individual.

This is a state assessment and it is required for all students to take the exam. In order to meet the graduation pathway, students need to earn at least the graduation score on the high school English Language Arts (ELA) and Math Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) of:

Score on ELA—2548
Score on Math—2595
